Training is at the heart of what we do at Somer Valley FM.
We want as many different people as possible in our community to get their voice and the voice of their group heard across our region! Whether a child, a young person or an adult, we have training facilities designed to meet your needs and aspirations in a happy and safe environment.
In 2017 the station launched the educational charity Sound Vision CIO as a vehicle to amplify the training outcomes achieved by Somer Valley FM since we were a classroom project at Somervale School back in 2006.
Sound Vision CIO now works in schools and communities across the Southwest. The growing charity remains very focussed on studio learning opportunities for any resident of the Somer Valley region and works in close partnerships with Somer Valley FM.
All training opportunities at the radio station are managed by Sound Vision CIO. For anyone wanting to get involved, skill-up and volunteer at the radio station will find that inclusive warm welcome that we have always offered since our launch in 2008.
We can customise training around your purpose and offer industry work placements, schoolwork experience, after school training clubs and studio learning for creative adults. If you want to be community reporter, radio presenter, a storyteller or get involved with production you are in the right place to follow your dreams at Somer Valley FM.
Since our launch we have helped over 1000 people build their skills, confidence and creativity in broadcast media. If you want to be the next voice your community hears then complete this form or direct enquires to info@soundvision.charity
