Win a FREE FM DAB Radio

Somer Valley FM is now broadcasting over 80 hours of  new content each week. From day one of Coronavirus we increased our daily live shows by at least 5 hours. We now have live shows across breakfast, lunch and afternoons, in the week, all packed with local information, stories and entertainment. As the local radio station we are prioritising getting our listeners the important information that is essential during the pandemic. We also need great music to help us through difficult times. All our presenters live and work locally and are passionate about this area. You have been telling us what you want to hear and our amazing team is delivering it. As a result there are more people listening and are listening for longer.

However, as the areas only local broadcaster, we are aware that there are a  people who are isolating who need to stay connected to family, friends, support groups and the wider community. We want to play our part in helping us all to stay connected.

We’ve teamed up with our friends at the Radio Hub to give away 5 free FM and DAB radios as part of our plan to try and help those isolating.

To enter is very simple. We’ve launched a new message service. Just leave us a message nominating someone for a free radio. This is open to everyone. The only limit is you need to be in the NE Somerset area.

To Enter: 

• Head over to our Talk page by Clicking Here.
• Record a message – this can either be done via a phone, a laptop or a computer with a webcam or mic. It is entirely free and safe.
• Tell us why you think you  / someone you know should get a free radio. (this can remain private if you wish).
• Tell us why radio is important to you / the person you are nominating?
• Leave us a phone number or email address to get in touch with you on.

All entries will be judged by a panel made up of our Volunteer board and also 2 of our Station Directors, finalists will then be announced live on the Breakfast Show with Jo Davis, the Midday Magazine, the Afternoon Show, the Mike Howell Show and our official Facebook page. You will then be contacted to arrange a safe social distancing delivery or collection. All packages will also be sanitised to decrease any risk of infection.
